Private Mediation Coaching Sessions
Family mediation can feel emotional, complicated, or overwhelming—especially when important decisions need to be made. Coaching support to help move mediation forward can be helpful. You may be unsure what to say, how to respond to proposals, may be struggling with how to express yourself and confused as to whether you’re making the best decisions for your situation.
The mediator can meet with one or both of you separately in a private coaching session. This service is available only when both parties agree and when private conversations with the mediator may help one or both parties make progress. These are voluntary, confidential conversations - not therapy or legal advice - but a time to:
Talk through what matters most to you
Make sense and talk through what's been hard in the process so far
Explore ways to express concerns without escalating conflict
Reflect on possible options and next steps
Identify sticking points in the negotiation or mediation process
Regain your footing so you can rejoin the process with more clarity and confidence
These sessions are designed to support your ability to make thoughtful decisions—for yourself, and often for your children or extended family. Sometimes, just one conversation can help you move forward. Other times, people find that a bit of extra reflection gives them the space they need to feel more prepared.
Mediation doesn't have to feel rushed or confusing. These support sessions are here to help you slow down, reflect and re-engage with care.
