Collaborative Family Professional
As a Collaborative Family Professional, I work as part of a team to support families during separation, divorce, or other transitions. The Collaborative Process is an alternative to court that helps people resolve legal, emotional, financial, and parenting issues in a respectful, private, and structured way.
Each person has their own collaborative lawyer, myself as a Collaborative Family Professional, and a Collaborative Financial neutral - depending on the family’s needs. All team members agree to stay out of court and work together to help clients:
Understand and express their needs and concerns
Focus on children’s well-being and developmentally appropriate plans
Navigate emotional or communication challenges
Make informed decisions about legal and financial matters
Reduce conflict and avoid long-term harm to family relationships
My role as a Collaborative Family Professional is to ensure that the process stays balanced, focused, and supportive. My role is to assist you in preparing for key conversations, understanding your own needs and responses, and communicating effectively—especially when emotions run high.
Collaborative practice isn’t just about reaching an agreement—it’s about doing so in a way that protects dignity, reduces harm, and supports long-term family resilience.
